Originally set-up in 1984, Prime Focus London PLC has grown from a small post-production company into a substantial media services group with turnover in excess of £20 million. Following the acquisition of Prime Focus London PLC by Indian post-production giant Prime Focus Limited, and its subsequent acquisition of Clear Post Production Limited, Prime Focus London PLC’s portfolio has been strengthened even further.

Clear is the Prime Focus UK Group’s visual effects division, and has forged an international reputation for creative innovation, superlative design and groundbreaking visual effects. This division boasts twenty-three CGI seats (XSI and Maya), a full service motion graphics and design department and fourteen Autodesk suites (Flame, Inferno and Smoke), and services the commercials, broadcast and feature film markets.

VTR is the Prime Focus UK Group’s state-of-the-art telecine division, incorporating five telecine suites helmed by VTR’s world-renowned team of colourists. This division, which specialises in digital intermediate processes, offers three 2K Thomson Spirits, a 4K Thomson Spirit, a Thomson Specter Virtual DataCine, an Autodesk Lustre Incinerator digital colour grading system, a Northlight digital film mastering scanner and an Arri Laser digital film recorder for scanning back to film.

Since its launch in 1995 blue has become synonymous with top-end broadcast post-production – from short-form titles sequences, idents and on-air promos to long-form television programming such as documentaries, sitcoms, dramas and factual series. Regularly featuring at the top of industry surveys, the company has built a reputation around its outstanding creative talent and unique range of post facilities – all in a client-focused environment. blue’s extensive facilities include twenty-four AVIDs, two DS Nitris suites, three sound dubbing suites with voiceover record facilities (currently being upgraded to 5.1), a full service motion graphics and design department, an SD / HD Mastergrade suite, two Autodesk Smoke suites and two Autodesk Flame suites.

TMR is Prime Focus UK Group’s film / digital restoration and duplication division and incorporates TMR Digital, the digital media arm of the group, which specialises in the design, build and integration of customised website and digital asset management (DAM) systems for a wide range of clients. This division also offers the latest technology in HD and SD video encoding through its state-of-the-art encoding suites, and The Archivist, a dedicated online video archive system.
